The garden is preparing to reopen its doors. After the vibrant energy of the first installment in July, the journey into the heart of the series "If colours could tell their stories..." continues for the end of summer.

Presenting one's works in the open air means accepting that painting is not static. Suspended in the foliage, bathed in the August light and carried by the breath of the wind, the raw canvases take on a new life. They emerge from the silence of the studio to enter into direct dialogue with nature and your own gaze.

Before each canvas, there is writing: the practice of self-praise as a spark and trigger. It is then that the structure of the acrylic asserts itself, guiding the free, instinctive and vibrant gesture of the pastel and the oil stick.

For this second act, two figures influenced by this research invite themselves into the garden.

Sleeping Beauty: Time Suspended and Awakening

What happens during those hundred years of sleep? More than a simple slumber, this tale evokes a secret gestation, the necessary protection before metamorphosis, and the power of awakening. On the canvas, pastel and oil stick convey this journey from silence to light, where matter awakens to reveal its contained strength.

The Old Cric Crac: The Enigma and the Transformation

A lesser-known and more mysterious figure, Le Vieux Cric Crac embodies rupture, the unexpected, and the vital force that shakes up what was stagnant. Working with this archetype was an exploration of duality, where incisive oil strokes and acrylic paint interact to give form to the unpredictable and to resilience.

An invitation to the garden

These works do not seek to illustrate the stories literally, but to make these childhood stories resonate within you through your feelings today.

I invite you to come and experience this sensory and embodied journey, accompanied by a few shared poetic readings throughout the afternoon:

  • Dates: Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August

  • Hours: From 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM

  • Location: Direct entrance through the garden, opposite 6528 Henri-Julien Street, Montreal.

(In case of rain, the event scheduled for one day is postponed to the following day).

We look forward to welcoming you there to share these words, these materials and these colours!
